Inquietud Collection
I am interested in how happiness and anxiety work together to create a beautiful chaos. By creating this ready to wear 5 look collection I am attempting to be able to
untying the knots that anxiety and happiness have created in my life. I have created the textiles for “Inquietud” with a mix of flowers, colors, brushstrokes and focusing on the parts of the body that are affected by both the anxious moments and the happy moments; the variety of lines add intensity to certain moments, while the flare of others add a delight to the other moments. These textiles are all hand painted and utilized as a form of therapy to help me cope with my anxiety. For people with anxiety it might be difficult to sit still. The intricate and repetition of the textiles create a bubble in which I am able to focus on one thing at a time rather than let my mind wander into a crazy race.The simple silhouettes of this collection allow for the textile to by the focus of it all.
“Inquietud”/ Restlessness is the inability to rest or relax as a result of anxiety or boredom.
